Jesus gave the ultimate sacrifice of love when He went to the cross for our sins. A true friend is willing to lay down their lives for their friends. Jesus showed great love for His disciples and well as us when He with to the cross. His death on the cross paid for our sins. Allowing us to be saved by God’s Grace, we can’t do it on our own.

Even today there are people willing to lay down their lives for friends, families and even complete strangers. Our Service men and women, and our first responder’s police and firefighters.

Only two people have ever offered to die for you. Jesus and the American Serviceman. Jesus died to give you eternal life and the freedom to worship God and the American serviceman to protect the freedoms that we have as citizens of the United States. Remember that neither type of freedom is free.

Philippians 4:6

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your request to God.”

In my personal devotions and Bible study I have been reading through Philippians and reading through A Women’s Passionate pursuit for God.  I am learning so much from the Word. One of the verses that stood out to me was Philippians 4:6.  The verse tells us to not worry about anything instead pray about everything.

As Christian’s we don’t have to worry about anything or even tomorrow because God is already there. He will not give us more than we can handle, but if He does it is because He wants us to grow stronger in our Faith. So that we will lean on Him, spend time in His word learning what it is He wants to teach us.

If our Faith was not tested with trials and times of trouble then we wouldn’t grow as Christians. On the mountain top is when we rejoice but it is in the valleys that we grow. Jesus didn’t say that it would easy, but He did promise to never leave or forsake us, all we have to do is call out to Him.

Our prayers help us to grow our relationship with Jesus even though he knows are thoughts and what we need; He still wants us to ask. 

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ, because He gives me strength Philippians 4:13

Whatever you call me to do I will be able to do it and bear it. Because as a believer in Jesus You will give me strength to do what You have called me to do. You never promised easy just possible.  Possible because with You  God all things are possible. 

Ruth 1:16

But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your People will be my people will be my people and your God my God.” Ruth 1:16

I want to have faith like Ruth. To be willing and trusting enough to You where ever You lead. I want to follow you like Ruth was willing to follow her mother-in-law to a place that was unknown to her. 

1 Peter 5:7

Give all your worries to Him, because he cares for you.

I have to trust that I can give (cast) my worries to You, because You love me, and want the best for me. You have been a father to me when my earthly father couldn’t or wouldn’t be a father to me.

I also need to realize that when I give my worries to You; I need to stop worrying because You have it under control and covered by Your grace.

Daniel 6:23

Heavenly Father

     Help me to honor and obey you no matter what the cost. No matter where you choose to send me.

Heavenly Father

     Help me to come to You first with the choices and decisions I have to make. Help me to remember to pray about everything and worry about nothing. If I need to talk about choices, decisions about the future help me to know which adult or friend will give me Godly advice not just what I want to hear.

Even though the Bible says all things are possible with God, doesn’t mean that it will be easy. However with God on your side then the impossible becomes possible. If it is God’s will for your life. Just like in the movie; as long as I have God I don’t need easy just possible.

Romans 6:6-7

We know that our old life died with Christ on the cross so that our sinful selves would have no power over us and we would not be slaves to sin. Anyone who has died is made free from sin’s control.

Heavenly Father

     Help me to break free from sin and bad habits from my past. Reveal areas of my life that I need to turn over to You. What I need to let You control. I need to learn that only when I give up control does life work out for the best.

You gave me a heart for children, teens, and opharphans. Help me to put away the “what if’s” to follow you and to do Your will even when it’s hard.

Heavenly Father help me to love others as you first loved me. To give unconditional love with expecting anything in return.  To love my enemies and Your enemies as you have called us to do. Help me to show Jesus through me and my actions.
